    Not to get ahead of everything ... but what a awesome matchup that would be. Tigers / Mets !!!!!! Not to dis the Cardinal fans around here but the Mets are the better team IMO. They just have to proove that now. Annnnnnnd, I don't think I am going out on a limb to say there is no way in hell the Tigers are not in the classic.

    And Kenny Rogers 1989 Tiffany rookies that you were lucky to get $.50 for earlier this year are now selling for $13.50 on eBay.

    He is pitching great!

    Rogers was even better than last Friday against the Yankees. The leadoff hitter got an infield single, and the A's had one more hit the rest of the game. The Tigers weren't exactly crushing the ball either, but just enough to win.

    It was COLD, but definitely bearable. Was sure it would rain some, but not a drop, so that was a pleasant surprise.

    This is great for Detroit and the state of Michigan as a whole. The economy sucks and many people have had a less than rosey
    outlook for the future. The Tigers give people something to feel good about.

    Well, getting ready to go freeze my ass off again today - Tigers are heavy favorites, but I think this is Oakland's best shot at pulling one out, as Haren is their second best pitcher. Although, in the end, I still think the Tigers are going to take this one - prediction on final score 4-2 with the Tigers coming from behind and scoring 3 runs in the 8th after Haren is gone.

    Well, as red hot as the Tigers are now, I don't think anyone's gonna stop the Mets, who were at or close to the best team in the majors pretty much since day one. I look for Mets over Tigers in seven in the Series.

    And I must say softparade you're being a very good sport about all this considering the Tigers' run in the postseason came at your team's expense. And the Yanks did the right thing IMO by keeping Mr. Torre.

    Well, I'm not such a good sport all the time image My father being a huge Tiger fan has alot to do with that image Anyway, the Tigers are playing like champions so who can gripe now?

    I don't think anyone's gonna stop the Mets

    The Mets have a long road ahead of them just to get to the WS, and I don't think they can match up in the pitching (with Pedro and O-Hernandez injured) with the Tigers. It's Glavine and then a crap-shoot. Traschel got bombed quickly tonight - he's not a big-game pitcher and neither is Maine, and I'm not sure if Glavine could pitch effectively in games 1, 4 & 7 if they needed him to, especially if the Cards series goes 6 or 7.
