Card shops or pool halls

Hello all,

I have a work seminar in Crystal Lake, IL this coming week and was wondering if there are any card shops or pool halls in the area. Any help would be appreciated. I was really looking forward to this trip until this morning when I read the local paper and it said that Hank Aaron was coming to town (Eau Claire, WI) to help campaign for the governor and I'm going to miss out on the opportunity to possibly score an autograph or two, oh well, I will send my wife. She probably stands a better chance than I do anyways since she is much better looking than I.

    Hi,

    I live right near Crystal Lake and take the train out of there everyday to Chicago for work. I will get you the address to the shop that I go to. I will also look up any pool halls in the phone book. Any other info you need on the area just PM me.

    Holy Cow Crystal Lake!! I grew up there. and only live a little north of there in wisconsin. You must be staying at the holiday inn!!

    As far as card shops go there is only one I know of and its called Prime time.... BUT i cannot recommend this one. The owner is almost always gruff and at times just plain nasty pain in the a**. I know some regulars that go in there and feel the packs because he does not watch them. If you are buying sealed boxes you might get a deal. If you are looking for singles that will be a little tough. I really cannot recommend this one to you. But he is the only shop I know in the 10-15 mile area around Crystal Lake.

    Pool Halls???? that I do not know. There used to be one in Mchenry called the spot but I do not know if its still there. Mchenry is about 10 miles north of CL right up rt 31.

    i certainly am staying at holiday inn, actually the seminar/training is at the holiday inn as well. I'll check out any shop I can, good or bad. I just like to go in and walk around even if the prices aren't where i would pull the trigger on anything, i'm gonna have some time to kill so i'm just kinda looking for places to go.

    In Canada, we have a channel called SCREAM that is showing five of the Friday the 13th movies in a row tonight starting at 7 p.m. I'll never be able to look at a goalie mask the same way again.
