My Heritage Dallas Signature Catalog STINKS!

I mean literally! I dont know if it's the paper, or the ink, but it is really a nauseating smell.

I usually toss 'em before I leave the P.O., but for some reason decided to peruse this one. Have they all been this offensive smelling lately??

Got ours in the other day. I have to say that I did notice a "smell" coming from it's pages. New Ink?

My have always smelled that way and I love it. It's the smell of money. The section on gold coins is especially well done.

Back in the early 1980's quite a number of books with "slick" pages were printed on paper (or with ink) that had an offensive odor. I wonder if this type of paper may again be in use. Heritage should look into this as it could actually lead people to toss their catalogs prematurely.

I used to own several art/photo books that were printed with this type of paper and was glad to get rid of them. The smell doesn't go away with time.

It's that petrochemical smell like import LP covers used to have. They like the glossy paper. Makes the ink run form my lot notes though.

Yeah, you nailed it... a petrochemical smell. It's definitely different than, say, my Hugon catalog ( that one is not going to the recycler!).

I didn't notice anything different. I like the "raised" cover on the catalog. It's different.

nothing of interest (capped bust half dime-wise), so I tossed it before smelling it.
