Over a year searching for this coin, so psyched! 1806/9 half dollar

BaleyBaley Posts: 22,663 ✭✭✭✭✭
I've been looking for one of these for a long time, even before posting This WTB thread on the BST forum almost a year ago, and I've finally found this piece for about trends (more or less depending on how you grade it) Anyway I'm jazzed about this coin and the two crown royals I had to celebrate it's acquisition

image

...and now my set of DB/HE halves by redbook variety is complete image (except for the "stoppers" such as 1806 round 6 no stem)

Thanks again Cladiator for creating and hosting this large image! image

    Cool.

It's a great feeling when you find a rare coin you've been looking for for some time.

I found one recently I've been hunting for almost 10 years. They needed two mop boys to clean up the drool by the table. Then someone offered me another about 1 month later.....

Congrats on the pickup Baley. Sweet coin. It is always a treat to finally locate and acquire a coin you have been hunting for for a long time. What a great feeling. I experienced the same last week when, after 7-8 years of looking, I finally found a 1959 proof Frankie in an OGP for $25.00 that had DCAM obverse frost, moderate CAM reverse frost and deep watery mirrors. A very difficult coin to find. Boy did I have a smile on my face when I picked up the proof set at a shop and drove home with it.

Thanks guys! ended up having 3 whiskeys plus wine with dinner, and my wife sez, "can we change the subject? I'm glad you got your coin and all, but..."

Anyway, went back and fixed the typos in the first post. Gosh I love these coins! image
