wow, this guy is number 4!

So I'm going through the emails that eBay sends on my favorite searches. Pull one up and I see this as the preview picture:

Wow, 700K positive feedbacks, that's a lot.

Then I see his feedback percentage

How are sellers like this even allowed? I know eBay loves their fees, but that's just ridiculous.

Who has made them more $$$?

It's a business. What I can't believe is that Paypal is a "credit institution," but yet not held to the same regards as the other credit institutions.

I just had an item that I sen out get lost. I did not get one e-mail nor did Paypal notify me of any complaints. They just issued him a refund and took it out of my Paypal balance!!! I would think that maybe I would have a chance to show I sent the item and or anything. But no. It was a $6 item and it turns out I know the guy.

I just can't believe that Paypal would just return money to the buyer as easily as they did. I know that when I have had problems when I was the buyer I could not get someone on the phone. This is a financial institution we are talking about here. How could funds simply be refunded so easily!!???

The 700K seller is at about 95% for the past month.
    Getting better.

I have a little sympathy for clothing sellers because
I know how crazy some buyers are. They want to
pay $1.00 for an item they saw in Nordstroms for
$50.00, and when the item arrives they freak.

But, EBAY is doing none of us a service by allowing
these low FB guys to continue doing what they have
done for the past good number of years. Sellers like
this can easily clean up their act, IF they are willing
to raise their prices a bit and lower their volume.
In other words, their biz model is built on excessive
over-promising; and, it works like a charm on the
profit side because there is a never ending line of
people who want something for next to nothing.

    PayPal continues to tread on dangerous ground;
    on many fronts.

For almost a year, I have been sending them prospective
notices (warnings) about conduct I suspect that they have
contemplated in regard to my accounts. I have to give them
a very long leash because their service is so perfect for what
I do, but there may come a time when I will change my tactics.

Their shysters continue to interpret every ruling against them
in the most narrow fashions, and this results in new cases
having to be brought almost continuously to enforce decisions
that were handed down in nearly identical previous actions.

PayPal used to be a good outfit, but EvilBAY has ruined them.

The only defense is to get the money out of there ASAP, inform
them in writing that you understand what they can and cannot
legally do in the dispute process, and make sure your own
shysters are ready to act quickly. Class actions do not work
against these guys, but the right kind of single plaintiff complaints
will change everything. They will "mess with the wrong Marine"
one of these days, and things will change. Until then, CYA is the
    only watchword.

This is a "financial institution" run by Ebay. What more needs to be said......

If you see an item you're interseted in and, after checking the seller's feedback, notice that he has TWENTY-ONE THOUSAND NEGATIVE FEEDBACKS, the wise thing to do would be to pass. I mean if you win the auction and things go array afterwards, you can't say you weren't warned. 21,000 negs. That boggles my mind!!!
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

It has to be something special for me to buy from someone with less than 99%, so I definitely can't see taking a 1 in 10 chance that I won't get what I paid for. It's just amazing to me that there is no policing for these large volume sellers. And there's no recourse if you pay by check or MO, short of going to court.
