Bad Ebay seller, Just need to vent

I like to collect memorabilia from our local AAA Baseball Team (SF Giants system). I found this Auction for a bobblehead of the OLD mascot (the new mascot is a big yellow bear). I thought the "buy it now" price is a bit high so I asked the seller if he would consider an offer of $25 plus shipping.
This is his response
<< <i>There is no such thing as a stupid question, just stupid people that ask questions. NO! >>
I think my offer was fair, however, I understand that he does not have to accept it. He could have counter-offered or simply said no thanks, Instead he chose to call me "STUPID"..
As much as I would like this bobblehead, I could not imagine sending this A..Hole any money.
Thanks for listening, I needed that.

And be buried with his silly little bobblehead.
JERK.
My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. it's good you found out now what he's like instead of later...I can't believe people are like that. A simple 'no' would have sufficed just fine.
I also thought that with the increased Store fees, sellers might be more willing to sell from their stores a little faster than before. I could be wrong about that. Seems like most store items on the bay are still priced way over what auctions of the same item sell for.

I would like to see the exact language
that the potential buyer used when he
submitted his offer.

There's only one way to look at situations like this. I say it to my friends when they discover 6 months in that their girl is cheating on them. I say it to my co-workers who discover that the person they work for is a two-faced backstabber. I say it to anyone when they discover that someone they previously trusted/respected has burned them.
Be thankful it happened now and not later on down the road when you would've had more vested. No matter how bad it is when things like this occur, be thankful that it didn't happen later when the burn would've been that more severe.
Imagine if you had won and had trouble with this guy after he had your money?

2 bad about some sellers plus his price is ridiculous. I was a grizzley season ticket holder in 2003 and think i might have acouple of those bobble heads in my stuff. i'll see if i can find it if i do it's yours for free. i need to do some spring cleaning anyways. if i find em ill pm you might takre me a couple days
shipping for the bobblehead."

So the exact quote would have been something like:
"Will you accept $25.00 plus shipping for the bobblehead?"
There is absolutely nothing wrong with that quote, and a
seller who goes ballistic over it needs to close up shop.
MANY buyers on EBAY are not nice. They send insulting
and demanding emails that experienced sellers simply
ignore. Here is an example of the kind of carp that
sellers often endure.
"You keep listing this widget over and over. When are you
going to get it through your head that the price is too high?
I have been waiting for you to get real for almost a month.
Hurry up and get some sense so I can buy this thing and
get it out of your store. I TOLD you I would pay you half
of what you are asking and that is fair."
That is actually pretty mild compared to the worst ones.
Responsible sellers just laugh and never bother to
respond. No decent seller would ever be rude to a potential
customer. (He might want to, but he wouldn't.)
Buyers who want sellers to comply with unsolicited offers need
to be very humble and polite in their approach. Seems like runner was.
Offers of 50% of list are usually not seen as reasonable by
sellers. The seller can keep the item in an EBAY store for
less than $1.50, for 12-months. Experience has shown most
sellers that everything eventually sells at or near the list
price.
The actual impact on sellers of the increase in store fees has
been a bit exagerated. It has caused some changes in the
way sellers list, but it has not created much desperation. Most
sellers have simply raised their prices a bit, and started to
rotate items in and out of different formats and onto different
venues.
There are some great auction bargains on EBAY right now, and
I suspect that they will largely dry up before the holidays.

storm...you're right....business ethics and manners are something that alot of people on Ebay fail to comprehend. That goes both ways..buyers and some sellers..
It's the people who say..." I really want this item...sell it to me at a discount and I'll take it right now"....or "I'm the only person who will buy this card..I'm the only one working on that Registered Set"...
My favorite is " your auction is for $39.95 and I really want/need this card...end the auction now and I'll give you $45 through Paypal...right away"
1st off...I don't end auctions...2nd...IF you can win it for $39.95...why would you pay $45?
I had a card 3 weeks ago that was listed with a starting price of $24.95....I got 3 emails offering me between $30 and $50 each to end it early. I refused....the card went for $152.50 and all 3 people who had sent the offers were ALL outbid by atleast 2 other people...
BUT..their offers were low compared to what they actually bid....$30 offer = bid of $70.....$45 offer = bid was $100.....$50 offer = bid was $120
so they were all playing games....
Too much.."hooray for me..the heck with the next guy mentality"
I've been dealing with a seller who has all BIN items in his store with Best Offer available. I offered the price minus shipping and he took it. He's since gotten numerous purchases from me and I check his store everyday.
I think it just requires a certain amount of reasonable compatibility from both parties. I realize this is a business and people need to make money -- I've got no problem with that. The knowledge of a good dealer is worth far more than trying to sneak a cheap deal in on a stranger.
