Your observation is quite true. Quite a few NGC's out there but not PCGS...

I know where at least one set is:

    Order #20060913 / Submission #3515364
    Total Items: 3

    Date Received: 10/11/2006

    Date Shipped: N/A

    Order Status: OK

perhaps one service is more liberal than the other in assigning lofty grades? Or maybe people are holding on to their PCGS coins and selling just the NGC ones.

I think it's more than NGC has a quicker turnaround than PCGS image And it's not just the PCGS 70s, but it seems all the PCGS listings are lacking...

If you are grading a coin to sell, go to NGC, they grade nicked up coins as 70.

If you are buying, buy PCGS. If it worth it, I don't know, but chances are way higher your perfect 70 will not have marks all over it.

Adding: Plus if you're sending in a sealed box, not being able to pick the best coins to get graded, sending them to NGC will get you a better grade.

PCGS cost more because they are the last reputable grader. I would never buy a NGC graded modern coin. Although, I might have some graded there. image

[markfeld] So, having made such statements, I'm assuming you have personally evaluated hundreds of these AGE sets in both PCGS and in NGC plastic. Furthermore, I'm assuming you have seen the majority of NGC 70's being 'marks all over it' right?[/markfeld]

Seriously, the above is true. To say that NGC 70's are loaded with marks is irresponsible at best, libelous at worst.
