2 pics into 1 with PhotoShop

This took a little time, but with help form some great guys, I thought this might be helpful for others who may have questions.
Step by step.

1)Load both pics in PhotoShop.

2)Use the Rectangular Marquee Tool to select the area to be cropped for pic#1. Then on the tool bar under "Image" select "CROP". If the imaage in pic#1 is still selected go to tool bar under "Select" and choose "Deselect" You may have to do this in other steps also.
Repeat previous for pic#2. In the main menu choose "Image" then "Image size". Make the "width" & "resolution" the same for booth pic's.

3)Change the layers in pic#1 to "1" and Pic#2 to "2'. Do this by double clicking each layer in "Layers, Channels, Paths" box.

4)Change the canvis size for pic#1 to 2 times whatever the width is. To do this go to the main toolbar under "Image" then "canvis size".

5)Choose the "Move Tool" and move the image to the side you want. Then select pic#2 and the "Move tool. Hold down the "ALT" key and slide Pic#2 to pic#1. Then move pic#2 to where you want it. Then Re-crop (see step#2) to the size you want.

6)Then form the main toolbar under "File" select "Save for web...". The save and change screen will appear. On the lower right side of the screen there will be a box with many colors in it. Select the "Image Size" tab. Another small pop up box appears. Change the "width" property to decrease the file size to less than "1K"(PCGS will not accept anything greater).

7)After all that click "apply", then click "save". It will be saved as a "gif" file to upload. Pretty Simple ain't it?

Are you trying to follow my directions to you?

IS THERE AN EASY WAY TO COMBINE PICS IN PHOTOSHOP?

Can you use the 'Marquee' tool to crop? I always use the 'Crop' tool to crop.

Yes, I did forget to mention to have both images at the same resolution to avoid resizing.
You don't have to assign different layers to each image as when you 'click & drag' 1 image onto the other, a new layer is created automatically. I have never had to hold down the 'Alt' key when dragging 1 image onto another, the copy is done, again, automatically.

I don't mess with the width as much as I do compression.

I also save as a jpeg, not a gif....but to each their own.
