Showed up at my local GameSpot today to get my preorder for the new Playstation 3. I'm #6 out out 16, so I'll be picking one up on 11/17. It's not gonna be around my house for long though...
I feel you there. My pal and I have preordered 6 of them. Figure, that'll earn us some nice cheddar for doing practically nothing.
Collecting; Mark Mulder rookies Chipper Jones rookies Orlando Cabrera rookies Lawrence Taylor Sam Huff Lavar Arrington NY Giants NY Yankees NJ Nets NJ Devils 1950s-1960s Topps NY Giants Team cards

Good luck moving them.
Stores will be selling them at $600 a piece, getting anything over that is an unrealistic expectation, especially with games costing upwards to $100, and the Nintendo Revolution coming out about the same time for less than half.
Sony has already announced they are going to halt all monitor sales, an early sign they may be preparing for a PS3 flopola.
Throw in the recent rootkit fiasco, the PSP fizzling, and the proprietary PSP software failing miserably, and you have a company that is putting all their chips in a very, very expensive basket in the PS3.

First off, in the US I seriously doubt young people will spring for a Nintendo over a PS. Older people will(like my brother); but tons of people are awaiting the new PS3. I own an xbox and a 360, and I've never had a PS. Never will.
Allen-I already have a few of them sold, and I'm getting Halo that day.

When it's less than half the price; when it has an innovative controller that is a load of fun; and Nintendo having 4 million of them on the shelves compared to whatever sony can scrape out? Of course they are going to buy a Nintendo.

The PS3 is already over a year late, has lots tons of market share to the 360, and the 360 is getting more and more popular every day, especially with the way they've been releasing classing games in HD through the online marketplace. The PS3 is dead in the water.
