2002 Liberia $50 Gold Jefferson Proof

I am sure these were mass produced for the collector market, but I was able to buy one under melt value and wondered if someone over here on the dark side could tell me anything about it. I saw someone marketing a similar one in the series (GHW Bush) for $176 on the net.

Thanks, in advance, for any enlightenment.

They do a lot of minting for collectors but minages can be small, 10,000 or less. It is not in my older Krause but I will TTT for someone else to look up for you.

Can't find it in my 2005 Krause.

I checked the 2007 Krause at the bookstore and came up with nothing. They didn't have anything past 2000 in the Liberia listings. Appreciate folks looking.

Also no listings in the online NGC pops and don't see how to get foreign pops online for PCGS. Figured it might give me an idea that is was common if someone bulk submitted them in at either one.

I believe Krause now has a new catalog for 2001-present coins.

Thanks. I'll have to see if they have one at one of the local bookstores unless someone here has one and and can look.
