Today's Universal Coin and Bullion cold call offered...

RYKRYK Posts: 35,801 ✭✭✭✭✭
Type 2 Double Eagles:

1872-S AU-58: $2625
1875-S MS-61: $2250
1876-S MS-61: $2450

While these prices are expensive, these are the closest I have seen to realistic ones from UCB. Usually, the coins they offer me are bullion coins priced at multiples of current market prices.

Two points to make:

1. The promotion of Type 2 Double Eagles is on again.
2. Make sure that your caller id is always working. image

Is this the same outfit that ran up the prices of Indian $2 1/2, $5, and $10 gold coins? Also, are these slabbed?

Yes and Yes (though I did not stay on the line long enough to discuss the slab brand--I assume NGC, maybe PCGS.)

RYK-- please wire me approximately $10,000 to my hotel in Hong Kong, and I will do some shopping for you here and pick you some winners. Forget about those telemarketers.

I got a cold call years back from a coin dealer. When I went to work for a dealer (very briefly), I asked if it involved any cold calling. Although they told me it didn't, I found the name of the guy who called me in their old employee list.

I was considering their "free" ASE offer that's in the Red Book. I do have caller ID but I think I'll pass if they call that frequently. That could get annoying fast.

Although, can't you request to be removed from their call list? I think there's some laws in place that force compliance to "do not call" or face fines.
