Where? When? Never heard there was a show on SI. Too bad it will cost $9 to get across the Verrazzano!!

Hey! I grew up there! Left in 1965 when I joined the Air Force. Lived in Grasmere and watched the Verrazzano Bridge being built from start to finish. There used to be coins shows at the American Legion on Hylan Blvd.

Hey Bob.....Its nice hearing from a fellow Islander....Are you talking the Labetti Post K of C? I grew up in Brooklyn and my dad took me to all the shows at the Golden Gate Inn in Sheepshead Bay when I was a kid. Fun times image

Yes, it was the Labetti Post now that you mention it. The last time I was on the Island was when my Mother died in Feb 1985. I guess it's built up a lot more since then. image

It is not $4.80. If you do not live or work in Staten Island it is like $8 with EZPass and $9 without. I will be there today!

Pretty nice show on Sat. Weather was perfect.

I got to meet a few CU members as well:

Nocerino18 (from Coinsuperstore) - Great guy and a fellow Brooklynite, like myself.

Allmancoins - Matt Allman - Also very nice and helpful with a great selection of supplies at reasonable prices.

Also met Nick Messina, who runs this show. There is another scheduled for some time in April, from what he told me.

I thought it was a little quieter than normal, but did see some of the bigger dealers moving
some higher end items, mostly gold. I saw some key date certified Lincolns trade hands as well.
But, mainly, Dealer to Dealer. There was a constant flow of buyers in and out, but there
was never any major chaos, so I got to speak to many dealers.

I also got to see my first (in person), SCARFACE and DONKEY Tail VAMs. Now those are pretty cool!!!
I don't get out of the house much, apparently.

I didn't notice many people from the street selling bullion or anything of that nature. Maybe they're waiting for another metals rally???

A bad day at a show, beats any day at work!!!
