I've "cherrypicked" a 42-D/D Jefferson.

A few weeks back, I was at an area coin show and happened upon the find of a lifetime! Bought what is now in an MS64 holder (PCGS), a 1942 D over horizontal D. My first major find and what a great one. I have listed the coin on the bay to help with the daughter's college fund. What has been your biggest find! List the coin and the year you found it! B. About 2 or 3 years ago (before the large metal boom), I was taking a family trip in the SW United States and tried to every coin store I could. Well, I was also just starting to collect Barber Coins (10c, 25c, 50c) and I found that most of the shops had bulk bins of those Barber coins. Anyway, I bought about half a complete set of Dimes and Quarters, and about 20-30% of the Babrer Halves set. There were some great deals to be had. I got several Key's and dozens of semi-keys for practically pennies on a dollar. And no, I didn't find a 96-S, 01-S, or 13-S Quarter or 95-O DIme.

Found a 1961 doubled die half in an unopened proof set from a local dealer. Yes, the BIG one! Graded PF66 at PCGS. Not bad for a $15 purchase price plus slabbing fees.

    Link to auction

(given the sellers name and rarity of the coin, I suspect this is it)

My first biggest, hope it's not my last!
I nailed a raw 1903 Lousiana Purchase Jefferson 1 Dollar Gold coin
on Ebay in June/July and PCGS slabbed it MS64.

I'm sad my bid didn't hold up. imageimageimage

I'm actually surprised the top bid was only $5,100 or so image

If you ever need 5k, PM me. imageimageimage
