Quality Control????

It really scares me when PSA sends out cards like these two winners. It is really bad to get one wrong, but two on the same submission? I have a bad feeling that the cert # in the middle of these two is also wrong.

It is just sad when they have told us that cards are inspected 3 times before being sent out. It just seems like more and more of this junk is being pumped out by PSA. Joe O. needs to set up a buying account with Ebay and get these cards off of the market. It was just posted about a 1935 Goudey that had the players names scribbled in blue ink on the front of the card. It makes the company look a bit less like a leader.

How can they grade valuable cards accurately when they can't tell that a card has pen marks on it or tell the difference in mini and regular from 1975. I have a stack of "mechanical errors" to turn in at the next show. You would think Quality Control would be near the top of the list. I guess it's all about the numbers.

I had better go get my submission ready to drop off at my nearest PSA dealer.

The two cards at the top are listing as 1975 Topps regulars when in fact they're minis.

gotcha , why I think this is a psa problem and not trying to spread the blame. shame on 4 sharp for their awful business practices. Of all of the large mass submitters , they seem to be the only one that just lists the cards based on the flips. they have an obligation themselves to reviewe their cards and when their are issues should send them back as opposed to trying to take advantage of labeling mistakes. you do not see this with dsl or the other volume submitters.

Constructive suggestions for improving quality control have been posted here numerous times by numerous people. Virtually all have been ignored. I can only believe that PSA is generally not interested.

I think you have to say shame on 4 sharp as much if not more than PSA. We have all gotten misslabed slabs back. We then have to send them back to be corrected. However, 4 sharp knew what they sent it, at least one would think. Then only blindly follows what PSA says on their label.

4 Sharp may list 500 or more cards in a day (between the 4 seller IDs) several times a week. They copy what the flip says, and don't doublecheck. If they were trying to take advantage of buyers, they wouldn't list cards where the flip represents a much less desirable card than is up for auction. I picked up a 1991 Topps Desert Shield Tim Jones PSA 9 from them recently that was listed on the flip and in the auction as simply a 1991 Topps Tim Jones PSA 9.

If they were taking the time to doublecheck what PSA did on the flips, their prices might be higher. Their profit margin on many of the 1970s PSA 8s and 1980s PSA 9s is pretty low - $3 opening bid, and shipping if you buy in large quantities works out to under 50 cents an item.
