Accepting serious offers for these two Morgan VAMs. They are both nice. I would like them to have nice new homes but don't want to lose money on them. These coins are too good for that.
1885-CC VAM-4 Hot-50 Doubled Dash PCGS MS65
This coin is very special. I have one of the handful that are in MS66 for myself and this is just the point below and is an awesome gem. The surfaces are blast white and display a delightful brilliant cameo effect over a superlative strike. Its eye appeal is undeniable. Carson City dollars should look like this in the best of collections. This also happens to be the Hot-50 representative for the 1885-CC date is a lot of gravy. I sent it through the variety service when it started; so it is tagged and ready for inclusion in one of the finest registry sets at PCGS or NGC. The variety involved clashing, exhibited in all of the usual locations as well as in some distinctive legend cracking on the die. The grade is only limited by some minor ticks.
1921-D VAM-10A Doubled Date & Legend, Tripled Left Stars, Gouge Left Wreath PCGS MS64 (R-6)
This is a recent discovery. I have two, both PCGS MS64 and have seen none finer or in the same grade (or I would have bought them). The title basically says it all about the variety. The VAM was discovered and designated after the publication of Rob Joyce's book but is described on vamworld (page written by me showing my other coin). This piece has an average strike with nice peripheral toning on the obverse. The reverse has more distributed, darker toning and easily displays the diagonal die gouge from the tip of the left wreath running between the wreath and the eagle's wing. Leroy designated this variety with rarity rating R-6. It is one of the important ones that is not well-known yet simply because it is not in the Fun With 1921 book.
If you are interested in either or both of these, email me at srsales at selectrarities.com or PM me here. I was going to list them today for 7 day eBay sales, but thought I would post here first.
