I also agree that your Sox are in much better shape than the Yanks although I think finally, if the Jays can get one more starter, it will be their division to lose next year.

<< <i>The whole country laughs at the Yankees and their high priced playoff losers so dont act like us Red Sox fans are the only ones. >>
You think no one was laughing when 120 million bought a third place finish in the division? No, Red Sox fans are not the only ones laughing. BUT, no one talks more about payroll(which is quite hypocritical considering the 120mill that did nothing for Sox fans) than Red Sox fans.

Tell me, which fans do you think are more passionate? Red sox or yankees? DUH red sox fans, without question.

See, THIS is what I mean! Still....... their 120 million dollar THIRD PLACE team (quite possibly the biggest payroll in the history of the game to finish so badly) ...... and still it is the Yankees.

It's 26-6. There is history before 1918, especially for us coin collectors!
There is a lame T-Shirt out there that Yankee Fans have been buying recently (showing 26 Yanks WS trophies against 6 Red Sox WS trophies) to sooth the pain of the 2004 choke. Probably one of the best selling Yankee T-shirts now.
Sorry Yankee fans, you have to live with that pain forever -- no team will top that choke in your lifetime!!
<< <i>yankee 'fans' only care about the past world series' they've won - they don't care about the team. they only care about potentially bragging about the next one - they have no sentimental attachment to the team.

Absolutely. Couldn't have said this better myself.
It's lame at this point for Yankee fans to try and flip the payroll argument onto another team, say the Sox for example. No team has failed to the extent that the Yankees have failed, when you factor in dollars spent versus championships won, over the last 6 years. No team. The Yankees are setting a standard for doing the least, with the most - and no one even comes close.

Hey I understand how much money the Yankees spend. But for you to sit there up on your hipity high horse CT, all while the Red Sox became the most expensive third place team in HISTORY. Thats right, do I need to put that in BOLD letters for ya Jer????? And, let me point out that AGAIN these so called "passionate" Red Sox fans can do nothing more then talk Yankee shop. You would figure this thread would spur them on a bit to talk about ummmmm ..... the RED SOX ???
As far as passion goes? We are one in the same. Get crocked with the "we are more passionate " bull$hit.

We will soon enough, but right now it's fun to watch the Yankees sink, and all the soap opera that comes with it. But don't worry, I'll keep you up to date on all the latest Red Sox moves and hot stove discussion all winter long - bet you can't wait for that.
hmm the orioles just signed a massive TV contract, the red sox will be better, and the blue jays will be spending more money next year as well.
Don't count them chickies just yet.
Only when the arguement suites, payroll is thrown at the Yankees success...even though how many times does it need to be proven that money doesnt buy you a championship.
You asked me in another thread what I thought about the AL East situation. I feel as though I offered a well-thought and informative response in regard to the situations in both NY and Boston.
All I got out of a response from you was a "Nice post. I enjoyed it."

<< <i>sucks for both sox and yankees fans to be talking about next year so soon in October -- another mid-October rematch would have been great baseball in any "normal" year. >>
Absolutely. No matter what side of the fence you sit on a Sox/Yanks series in October always makes for great baseball. At this point I'm pulling for the Tigers. Detroit has good fans and they've sat through some rough baseball in recent times.
