Looking Good for the Metsies!!

grote15grote15 Posts: 29,694 ✭✭✭✭✭
Bottom of the 8th, 9-5 only five outs away from a possible rematch of the 2000 NLCS with the Cards! Would be nice to have a rested Glavine on the hill for Game 1. Hopefully Floyd won't be out for the rest of the way, either. The Mets have really battled through the injuries over these past couple of weeks!

  • I'm rooting for the Mets to win it all, I know it'll be tough with El Duque, Pedro, and it's looking like Floyd out; but I'm pulling for them. Hopefully the hitters will continue to step up, and the pitchers will keep sitting them down.

The Mets will win it all. I have said this all year, only I figured they would be playing Boston in a 1986 rematch. In any event, the Mets will prevail.

Now all the yankee 'fans' climb on the mets bandwagon and say 'hey I'm a new york fan!'

  • REAL fans stick to one team. They may pull for the AL or NL team if their team gets beat but to switch gears after their team loses is fair weathered.

    Yankees are AL.
    Mets are NL.

I'm a Yanksfan, always have been always will be. But I cheer for the Mets unless they are playing the Yankees.

I know you aren't referring to me. If you knew anything about the game, you'd know that Jerry Grote #15 was the Mets catcher from the late 60s through the mid-70s. I've been rooting for the Mets since Lee Mazzilli's rookie year. Let's Go Mets!

LMAO...some of you guys are ridiculous! Yanks didnt make it so I would love to see the Mets take it....we are sooooo horrible for wanting that but if you are a fan of any other team other than the Yankees, you have every right to root for another team!? Is that why Bosox fans are putting Tigers Logos on their sigs? Or Mariners fans rooting for the Tigers?

Nothing fair weather about it. I have a team I would like to see take it all now that my team is no longer in the running. That's all..simple as that...but you Yankees haters have a hard time handling that, eh? image

haha it's funny to see how fast the yankee 'fans' root for the new bandwagon in town - the mets. And now with a new sheriff running the yankees, who knows what happens.

Thanks for the laughs clowns...you guys are always good for a smile!

Thats exactly right Axhole! Amazing how we can root for a team in OUR OWN STATE! Something you certainly know nothing about.

Well there's plenty room on that mets bandwagon, now the the wheels have completely fallen off the yankees'. It's the 80s all over again - a team in disarray, new manager, an overpaid, old, and BAD team, and everyone else getting younger and better.

Will the yankemees even be in the playoffs next year? Odds are: NO.

I certainly like the Yankees odds much over the Mariners! And the way I see it, it's still good being a Yankees fan! image

Axhole's only been a sports fan since about 2001, that's why he roots for the M's and the Sucs. And that's also why he has such obsession issues with real fans in any sport.

Since you don't know ANYTHING (as your hopping on the yankees bandwagon has shown), you don't know how long I've been a fan of any team, do you dipchit?

Hey scrote, how long you been a yankees fan? I am guessing what, 1996? Mets fan since, oh, I don't know, 1986?

I'm guessing I'm right on both counts!

You are the furthest thing POSSIBLE from a 'real' fan. A 'real' fan would never root for a crosstown rival. Do you think CUBS fans rooted for the WHITE SOX last year, or that white sox fans would ever be caught dead cheering on the cubs? THOSE are REAL fans - you clowns are a bunch of front running pansies who will hop into bed with whatever team is in first.

Sickening. And you call yourselves 'real' fans...you make me want to throw up.

Nope. No litter boxes here. I use the bathroom like an adult...you still need diapers.

No wonder you have such a fascination for bodily fluids....you're sitting in them 24 hours a day.

Obviously, you never heard of Jerry Grote, so I won't waste my breath trying to educate you. I've never been a Yankee fan, but I've been a Mets fan since about 1975 when my dad brought me to my first game at Shea Stadium (back before the apple and when they had the colored shingles on the outside of Shea). You'd never know anything about that, though, because I bet right after you crawled out from under the rock you lived under you picked the baseball team with the best recod in 2001 (M's) and the the Super Bowl champs of 2002 (Bucs). Too bad both those teams SUCK now, though. Get lost clown, you're in over your head. Maybe you can start a Dungeons & Dragons thread to allievate your suffering.

Everyone look here! This is the mentality we are dealing with! I must end my involvement in this conversation because it just isnt a fair duel with the mentally handicap!

You need to get past the A's first. Their pitching staff is alot better than the one you just faced.

Record, is the correct spelling. And alleviate is the other. Maybe you'll take time to proof your posts before you so hastily respond. Get lost, troll.

I know, I heard about how Kenny Rogers and Jeremy Bonderman cannot pitch in a big game too!!!
