How's the collecting base for Puerto Rican coins? Are they avidly sought by only a few serious collectors? Does collecting typically cross over into tokens and medals (hacienda, etc.)?

I think there is a strong collector base, since prices seem rather high for them.

How's the collecting base for Puerto Rican coins?

The base is very good. Spain issued coins for Puerto Rico for only one year and there has never been an independent Puerto Rico. They're a must type for collectors of Colonial Spain, Latin America, one per country collectors and others.
