A win's a win, and USC will rightfully move up to #2 in the polls following Auburn's loss.

Rightfully? I'm a pretty ardent supporter of my beloved alma mater, but I think I'd have Florida and Michigan ahead of USC. I'm really not even sure if we would beat Texas. The season-opening win against Arkansas and the great defensive performance against Nebraska were solid games, but so far we've looked pretty lackluster in Pac-10 play.

The crushed Arkansas in the season opener, the team who just beat the #2 team in the land...seems to me the #2 spot is quite fitting?

Arkansas beating Auburn certainly helps USC, but I don't think one can read too much into that season-opening win. Arkansas has clearly improved since then while USC has just been kind of flat. I'm not complaining about being #2 or anything and hope we can again make it to the BCS title game, but I though USC was ranked a little too high to begin to the year and I'm still not sold on us being a serious championship contender. These last two games were way too close. Especially today's.
