Paris, Tn Find... When was it ?

I have been reading in this guys auctions on E-bay where there was some kind of find of 55 Topps in Paris,TN ? I live about 40 Miles from there and have never heard of such a find. Does anyone know anything about this particular find, It looks like Mr. Mint was behind it so I am kind of skeptical about the whole thing.

That was a find of a few hundred wax boxes of 1955 Topps baseball and '54 and '55 Bowman baseball and football. Many of the boxes and packs had water damage. You'll occasionally come across a 1955 Topps baseball waxpack with brown stains on the wrapper. When graded, these usually come out around a GAI 5. There were also about 125 1955 Bowman sets made from these wax boxes prior to Rosen buying them. They were all missing Charles "Chick" King who lived in Paris, TN.

Unfortunately Mr Mint's web doesn't give the date of the Paris find.

I am all over the 55 topps and I feel worried about this auction. Some of the corners look nm at best and commons are selling for 200$$$+
  • I hope those are more than hundred dollar bills she is holding. Do these "finds" usually pay pennies on the dollar?-- somehow I have a bad feeling that they end up that way.

I was looking through an old auction catalog from 2004 and a 1954 bowman box from that find was in the auction. The auction stated that the consignor purchased it in 1994. So the find dates back at least that far.

I see Mr. Mint didn't spend any of those 100's on English classes or a proof-reader. Direct off of his site from Stone's link:

Did spell check cost an extra nickel on his computer??
