I saw this 1875-S Seated Quarter on Ebay, and I thought to myself, hey that's not a bad looking coin. I figured I'd feel comfortable paying around $85 for it, so I bid that.
As you can see I won the auction.
I've sent the check and in a week or so it'll go into my collection.
Well, here's the rub.
I just pulled out my Seated Quarters, and guess what........
I already have 11 of the 1875-S.

I guess the real question is, are you having fun?
If so, then who cares if its the 100th 75-S quarter, as long as you're enjoying it!

Doesn't sound like coin collecting is the problem. Your memory is.
Obsession ?
Two rolls of 1832 Bust quarters.
That's an obsession.

Coin collecting is not a hobby, it's an obsession !

Practice makes perfect & nobody is perfect. So, practice being nobody.
By the way, your last post made me cry. Sorry-
But a good way to keep her in your memory. Bob

Did you check the Briggs book on seated quarters to see if you have different die marriages/die varieties?

<< <i>In Freudian terms, perhaps the urge to collect, to acquire and hold, is sometimes anal-compulsive in nature and the urge to complete, to fill holes, is sometimes phallic because of incomplete development. >>
Freud was anal-compulsive about sex.
<< <i>LOL. That is funny because I am really good about knowing what I have, what I need, where I bought things and for how much. Still, there are these VAMs I keep getting thinking I don't have them yet. 1878-S VAM-30; 1888 VAM-18; 1921-D VAM-1P. The best though is the 1892-O VAM-7 (doubled ear. I always know I have a few but pick another up. Last count I think I had close to 40 of them. >>
Considering the 1878-S VAM 30 is probably the most common 1878-S VAM there is, but you probably don't have as many as I have. . .
