Question on grading cards

I started collecting BB cards back in 1973 and continued until about 1990. Recently my wife and I moved and I got my cards out of storage and was bitten by the collecting bug again.

I have been away from collecting for so long I have a lot of catching up to do. The question I have is on the different grading services. In the coin collecting arena PCGS, NGC and ANACS are considered by most to be the most reputable.

What about Baseball cards? I assume PSA is one of the more reputable grading services. Who else is good and who should I avoid?

Thank you in advance.

P.S. By the way I was amazed at how much the card values in some cases had decreased in value compared to the 1980's.

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

  • Grading can be a touchy subject as many have strong opinions on the best. In my opinion the cream of the crop is PSA,BGS,SGC and GAI. Stay away from GEM,AGS,PGS,BSGS,Mint,CCS ect.

Any 89 Fleer Bill Ripkens in there?

The card values-yeah they printed just a few too many in late 80's eh?

    Good Luck.
