Im trying to list a Mexican 8 Real on Ebay. Its 1831 8R.X.1831.B.T.10Ds.20.Cs. I cant find it listed in Krause. I guess the mint is X-BT. Its a VF.

Im stumped. There isint even a mint listed for X and no graver with the initials B.T.? Huh.

Looks like a contemporary counterfeit to my eye. Eagle style is very strange and there shouldn't be an 'X' mintmark as far as I know.

Lots of contemporary counterfeits exist for Mexican cap and ray 8Rs. Some nearly indiscernable from the originals and some more obvious when you sit down and look at them.

Neat piece.

I agree with Josh...

The Eagle is just not right. The wings are very problematic. I think a contemporary counterfeit is highly probably... what is the weight?
