I am working on a nice type set, but it isn't ready for display, but this is one I put together for fun, I hope you all enjoy a good chuckle!

I have had a lot of fun with this set and now I am only missing an ASE and a commemorative dollar. Neither is common with my preferred method of damage, but I'm still looking!

lol, I have a rule for the set that I will not decrease a coin's value just to get it into the set. That means I can only "make" coins which can be bought for face vale. The coins that I "made" are the Memorial cent, Jefferson Nickel (non-silver), clad dime, clad quarter, statehood quarter, bicentennial half, and Sacagawea dollar. The rest are someone else's creations. image

Don't you hate asking a question right after someone posts the answer? I know I do.

Cool set man. When I was doing a holed 7070 and showed the photos I got asked the same question. When I told folks that I holed the modern "worthless" coins I got all kinds of crap for it. Good luck with your hunt!

I think that is an AWESOME set! Frankly, holed coins have tremendous historical value... those coins all had a special purpose (good luck charm, etc) to someone. Plus, even holed, there are some valuable coins there... not a cheap set.

That is a great set! I live working on type sets.

I'm working on a holey coin type set. Only I'm not working that hard. Also I'm not using a 7070 album, I'm using a baseball hat. You have many more types than I!!!!

I could tell by looking at your Jeff that it was drilled with a modern drill. To me that is something I would't put on my hat. So I don't have any moderns on my hat. It is OK, because I don't have all that much room on my hat anyway. image

I like 7070 sets, but have never seen a holey one. I kept coming back to the Barber quarter, that's my favorite.
    Thanks for sharing your photos

Neat---In the early 1970's i started a holey large cent date set--i had about half of them when a dealer made me an offer i couldn't refuse, so i sold them (wish i wouldn't of).Back then no one wanted them and you could get holed large cents for $1 or even less. Lot of fun for a few dollars. Very nice. Bob

Great set! I've been working on a full US Type (And year set for some series) Set of holed coins for the past decade or so. My only condition is that they have to be contemporarily holed, at least to my best knowledge (which really makes it a PITA). I'm having a really hard time finding contemporarily holed Double Eagles.

It's good to see other Holey collectors around.

I've seen both the Saint and a Lib DE on eBay in the last year, but I hadn't started the gold page yet (still haven't in fact) so I let them go. Both sold above their melt value.

I believe most of mine have contemporary holes. Even the hole I've done are contemporary on moderns, lol.
