Who didn't know that K was coming?

Crowd screaming, bases loaded, and Mr. Clutch strikes out looking..... Typical.

Where's the hate for sheffield of giambi? They both had 0-fer days, and, like the steroid scandal, they get a pass.

    Ridiculous.

    Cano? 0-4.

    Jeter? 1-4 with 3 LOB.

    Get over yourselves already.

  • << <i>Where's the hate for sheffield of giambi? >>

At least they both had an RBI or two in game 1. Where is Arod? Oh, strike three looking as ususal in a big spot.
  • the rod today - 0-4, 3k, 3 LOB

I suspect any team in baseball would love to take him off your hands. Assuming the Yankees picked up part of his salary, of course. Hell, outside of New York and their brutal media he'd probably become his old self again.

That is fair enough. BUT what does THAT say about his mental makeup? This is the point alot of you are missing ....... A-Rod has BIG TIME issues handling the media and the fans. A-Rod has BIG TIME issues in that head of his .... he is all over the place with his comments. A guy like Jeter answers questions the same today as he did in 1996. Derek Jeter is ROCK SOLID in the noggin .....

It's ridiculous that these yankee 'fans' want to overlook the shortcomings of the team in today's game, and, in particular Cano who is hitless and has ELEVEN men LOB in his 2 games.

Where's the outrage? He came up through the vaunted yankee farm system...so he's a homer that gets a pass, just like sheff and giambi.

Arod's an easy target because he's hugely successful, makes more money than anyone, and isn't home grown NY.

  • ^^
Cano has come through in the past. During the five game fenway series that basically decided the pennant race Cano had one less RBI than Ramirez and Ortiz combined. When's Arod come through? One playoff series.

Arods not successful. Has yet to get a ring, and won a meaningless MVP award. Tons of players have become loved by the fans that weren't home grown. But Arod has justified the 15 million per year the Yankees are paying him; but not the 25.2 million per year he makes.

Playoffs? That was the regular season...now you've been reduced to comparing do-or-die games to the regular season games? Pathetic!

Meaningless MVP award? Really? Again, pathetic.

Take Arod off that team last year and they'd be lucky to make the playoffs.

    He's won 2 MVP's, dipchit.
  • In Texas=Meaningless
Last Season=Meaningless(What did he follow up that "MVP" performance with in the playoffs? This season proves without a doubt that ARod isn't the guy pushing this team, he never has been either)

Even Yankee nut John Sterling (who I unfortunately had to listen to today call the game since I wasn't near a TV during it) said that when A-Rod struck out to make the final out of the 8th (or 7th?) and the fans booed him, why didn't the fans boo the two guys before him that struck out? This is as crazy and insane (literally) of a Yankee fan as there is pointing this out, not me.

They do completely different jobs...is ichiro a better power hitter? Absolutely not. Is ichiro a better on base and average hitter? Absolutely.

<< <i>Cano has come through in the past. During the five game fenway series that basically decided the pennant race Cano had one less RBI than Ramirez and Ortiz combined. When's Arod come through? One playoff series >>

How absolutely and positively pathetic that the yankee drum line for cano blowing chunks in the first 2 games of this series (hitless, ELEVEN men left on) has been 'well he had more RBI in a 5 game series than Manny and Papi combined!

Pure comedy folks! Keep it coming...I love to laugh.

Why do you clowns put more emphasis on a 5 game series in the middle of the year than the PLAYOFFS?

    And you call me dopey?

New York fans don't like guys with mushy brains. Never had and never will. What is amazing is that you kooks sit there being amazed at New York fans who boo a guy with ZIPPO in the mental toughness department. If it makes you all feel like a better "fan" thats just fine and dandy. Regardless of the rhetoric spewed by those who don't know New York ... it is a tough town that like tough guys and A-Rod is the stay-puff-marshmellow man.

Obviously that's not true, as he single handedly took the yankees into the second round of the playoffs in 2004...2005 he wins an MVP...suddenly, after a dozen years in the bigs and 2 in yankeeville, he doesn't have mental toughness?

Ridiculous...do you guys even read what you write before you post this garbage?

  • Nimrod is what the Yankee fans at my work are calling him

Yankees owner George Steinbrenner didn’t mince words: “I didn’t like him that well.”

    OUCH

I always liked Arod but the man needs to have a good post season series with some clutch hits to turn this thing around.. It's getting ugly

    Dave
  • from Jay Greenbergs column in today's Post -

Asked if anybody had told him to keep his chin up, Rodriguez's eyes narrowed like his throat in a big spot. "My chin is up," he said. "My chin is not going anywhere, there's no time for it.

"People are going to write whatever they write. All I'm trying to do is the best as I can. My job is to contribute to a win and I didn't do that today."

New York noticed. New York, which cheers A-Rod to the plate and boos him back to the dugout, is not being unfair. Contrary to how Rodriguez might feel about being too smart, too handsome, too rich or even two-toned, New York can't wait to love him.

And New York's wait goes on.

  • Hope for tonight image...

Facing Rogers may be just what Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez needs to snap out of his postseason funk. Rodriguez is 10-for-19 with five homers, two doubles, nine RBIs and five walks in his career against Rogers.

Rogers' history against the Yankees is no better than his postseason track record. Since the start of the 1994 season he is 0-7 with a 9.21 ERA in 11 starts against New York. He has not faced the Yankees since the 2004 season - meaning he has yet to take on the lineup that scored a major league-high 930 runs this year.

And Arod's batting cleanup? he should...he's that team's best bat.

LMAO ARod is NOT the best bat the Yankees have, especially in clutch situations! But thats just my opinion.

And from other things this DOPE has written is that Ichiro would hit .400 in the Yankees lineup. If that was the case, why isnt ARod hitting .370-.380 with 80 HRs, 200 RBIs, 200 walks, and a .500 OBP?

    Axhole spews stupidity once again.
  • AxtellAxtell Posts: 10,037 ✭✭
Arod is definitely the best hitter....and this crap about 'clutch' situations? Either back it up with facts or quit yapping it.

Please tell me which yankee has more home runs than Arod? Anyone?

  • << <i>Please tell me which yankee has more home runs than Arod? Anyone? >>

Axtroll, you don't watch the Yankees every day so you don't know what you're saying. That's not the proper question to ask. The right question is which Yankee has more home runs that mattered in big spots? It most definitely IS NOT Arod. Most of the Yankees playing tonight have had consistenty bigger HRs than Arod. Most of the time Arod pads his numbers when there is no pressure and no game on the line. I watch every game and you dont' so you wouldn't know.
