Most of you guys are too bitter. You are upset if Jeter does well because he is paid well. He is an excellent player that seems to always play well. Just because Jeter does not play on your team or does not play for peanuts then you have to trash him. What is wrong with just watching the game and enjoying the moment? Jeter was in the zone tonight. I am no Yankee fan, but I enjoy watching Jeter hit. I can understand if you happen to be a Detroit fan that you would want him to play poorly and get upset when he plays well, but I don't think most of you are Tigers fans.

JMO (regarding the sox fans).

Plus I like the fact that he's a Yankee great that Steinbrenner didn't plunder in the free agent market from some "lesser market" team. In other words, unlike most other Yankee stars.
But as I said, the man OOZES Yankees to the core, and to me he's the ultimate *symbol* of Yankeeness, so he tends to get it from me. McCarver, on the other hand, seems to want to have his love child.

Most? exactly 1/3 of last nights starting lineup was plundered from some "lesser market" team (since Oakland, Boston, and Atlanta are lesser market teams, I guess)...

I think what he meant was that the majority of the players on the Yanks are acquired from another team (via signing or trade) in their peak years.
