Off Topic: Does anyone collect Japanese notes?

I considered posting this on the currency forum, but it looks like just about all the traffic there is concerning US notes. Maybe one of the darkside coin collectors also dabbles in currency.
I have some slightly better 20th century Japanese notes that I'd like to sell and would like to find someone who collects them to take a look and tell me what I've got.

Category headings are in English, but everything else is in Japanese.
I'll be traveling for the next month or so, with minimal internet access, but when I get back I'd be glad to look up any that you post pictures of. I believe Stork has a JNDA catalog, and she could at least identify the category of any posted pictures.
It is a shame there's not more activity on the boards with world paper... there's some really nice stuff out there!

I believe that the two following notes have different watermarks. I found an example of the second one for sale on an online banknote site for considerably more than the price listed in my older currency catalog. I can't get an idea of the rarity (if any) of these notes from what's available on-line.
The first one is JNDA #11-51, listed as "Second Shootoku", issued in 1945/46, and valued between ¥3,000 (~$25.40) and ¥25,000 (~$212), in the 2006 catalog. "Shootoku" is translated as "Income" in my dictionery.
The other two are JNDA #11-58, listed as "Third Shootoku", issued in 1944 & 1946, and valued between ¥10,000 (~$84.75) and ¥55,000 (~$466).
All three are described as 93mm high, but the first one should be 163mm wide, and the other two should be 162mm.
Issue size is not listed for any notes in the JNDA catalog.

I'm not sure I can really quote a value on those... these are fairly scarce, at least for ebay. But ebay doesn't seem like such a great venue for Japanese notes. I rarely see nice ones there and gave up long ago (as I'm sure many others have), so I can't really tell you the going rate. Based on experience, though, I'm not sure they're as hot as Korean notes or even some Chinese ones. They can pull strong prices and yours are in pretty good condition for type. Since, I'm useless here, I'd recommend tracking down an expert... IIRC there is a Yahoo group related to Japanese notes? or was it a message board somewhere?
Sorry for being so little help!
Anyhow, here's what my 6 year old Pick quotes these at:
P-42. ND (1930). Black on blue and brown unpt. Yumedono Pavillion at l., portr. #6 [Shotoku-taishi] at r. Back green and brown; Horyuji Temple at ctr.
$ 15/VG, 50/VF, 150/UNC [based on this I'd range yours between $30-60]
P-78A. ND (1945). Black on green unpt. Portr. #6 [Shotoku-taishi] at ctr. Back dk. green.
-- a. Wmk: Quatrefoil. Shaded gray to dull gray-green to gray unpt. Block #1-43. -- $ 35/VG, 100/VF, 300/UNC.
-- b. Wmk: Kiri leaves. Dull gray-green unpt. Block #44-190. -- $ 25/VG, 75/VF, 275/UNC.
I'm not sure about the date discrepancies between Pick and what Roy states for JNDA, but I'd rely on JNDA's dates and be confident that these are in fact the same notes being referred to in both books.
Also, you may like to donate these images to Ron Wise's online catalog. It seems they don't have examples of these yet (perhaps testifying to their scarcity!). Also, I'm sure he could refer you to someone more knowledgable.

There are some Korean notes of the same time period with the group, as well as Japanese Invasion Money and a couple things from China. I did get a scanner, so if I can figure out how to use it I'll try to post some images.

Sounds like a really interesting collection! The JIM notes are for the most part worth less than $5 and on average less than $1, though there are a few issues that are better and some others with scarce block #s. I seem to recall someone having a list of the ones to cherrypick?
