Well, it's been ugly, but.......

..... the Cardinals are in the playoffs! I know that alot of people will come on here and say "whoopie doo", "they are going to get put out in the first round anyway. Believe me, I know that this Cardinals team has some major holes, but anything can happen in the playoffs. How many times lately has the wild card won the whole thing. Even though they are not the wild card, I sort of think of them as a wild card. That are not even close to as strong as the last two years. In 2004, Carpenter was hurt. In 2005 Rolen was hurt. This year, they are both relatively healthy. Chris Carpenter will be going in Game 1 (probably against the Padres, in San Diego). I'm not making any predictions, but that series will be very winnable for the Cardinals if they can get Game 1.

It was a gamble not to start Carpenter today, but it paid off. It should be a good series.

The way the Cards have played over the last month or so, I don't see how they get past the first round. Both SD and LA are playing great ball at the right time and the Cards have been lackluster all year.

    Congrats Cards.

It was a fun, wild finish.. Hopefully next year we too can close out the season at home image

The one thing you can hang your hat on is that there is NOBODY in the NL with lights out pitching. Obviously, anything can happen.
