Proof reimaging experiments (LOTS of pics)

So after my epiphany on imaging proofs, I grabbed a bunch of slabs from my safety deposit box to bring home and try to reimage using this technique.

I pulled about 50 slabs of coins that I thought were proof, PL, extremely lustrous, or wildly colorful, and imaged multiple shots of each, all told about 350 shots. I only ended up keeping shots for the 15 coins below.

Unfortunately it looks like this method is only useful in limited circumstances, those being when there is significant cameo contrast. Because we're dealing with low light conditions, unless there are light areas of the coin to reflect light, all you get is a dark blob (so using it on most copper is useless). Also, this method does absolutely nothing to bring out color or toning on a piece.

In those instances where you DO want black-white contrast, however, it seems to work well. I think I'll limit the use of this method to cameo proofs...
