Chess and Toilets

All the silliness going on in the Kramnik-Topalov Chess match brings one question to mind..............

I have read on more than one occasion on these forums that members have witnessed coins being dipped in the restroom at a coin show.

I presume they were after the quick buy, then dip, then sell at higher grade.

In my ever-optomistic outlook I prefer to think it would be at the request of a customer. "Ok, it's a deal if you'll dip that ugly toning off of it". --Jerry

Just as a followup Grandmaster Kramnik defeated Grandmaster Topalov today to capture the title of undisputed World Champion! It has been 13 years since anyone has been able to claim that throne. image

What were they dipping them in?

Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

I witnessed an older Boy Scout teaching younger boyscouts how to dip coins in Jewelluster in the mens room sink at the Whitman show in Atlanta about a year or so ago. They were dipping with their bare fingers, rin sing under the tap and drying the coins with the paper towels from the dispenser.

Don't know. I'm sure this coin has been in a bathroom or two in its time.

These restroom coin doctors ought to be ashamed of themselves. Can't they wait to get home? Maybe someday they will get theirs.
