In my experience the 1908 is the hardest to find. At least they dont come on the auction block very often.

In my experience, the 1905 proof set is the hardest to find; especially the hardest to find nice.

However, the 1908 silver proofs (the 10, 20, 50, and peso coins) are all 1-year type coins due to the reduced size, so the demand for these coins may be greater than the 05.

Also, the 1908 50 centavo was minted from a damaged obverse die. I've seen, handled, or owned well more than 2 dozen of these 1908 50 centavos and have never found one with full hair or a rounded breast on Lady Liberty.

So to complete the rankings ...

Hardest ... 1905

Second hardest and close on the heels of '05 ... the '08.

Third hardest, the 1906 proofs

Fourth hardest, and close on the heels of the 1906 is the '04. I don't know why the 04 is almost as hard as the 06, because the mintage is double, but that's my experience, again over dozens of sets.

And easiest, by far, are the 1903 proofs.

I can see 1905 is the hardest due to the number of mintage, however 1906 is giving me a hard time finding them anywhere. Maybe someone in this forum can direct me where where i can get it.
