Cheapie NEWP crown, who says cheap coins can't be neat ?

Ive been enamored with the large St.George recently, so I looked for some inexpensive examples. This one just got here from GB deliveryed for about $11 USD.

Do europeans have a particular aversion to holes ? This went cheap for a potentially valuable coin. I think it's real, it doesn't have a funny look, and the weight is near-on (minus what I figure is the weight of the silver in the hole!)

I imaged it for the heck of it

Not fake. Nice for the price. I have a few of these in lower grades.

Looks real to me, I can't imagine anyone faking a crown with so much wear and a hole. I say you got a good deal

there's just nothing like the heft of a silver dollar sized coin ! bonus, if it slips out of my hand and hits the floor... no big deal !

A very good attitude to have, and I guess you got that below or just at melt. I love to imagine all the hands and transactions that coin has seen

If the hole were better placed, I'd offer to arm-wrestle you for that. I had a George III 1820 crown on my Holey Coin Vest, but a certain Dead King wanted it for some reason (his keychain?), so now I am crownless, in the holeys.

I concur, if you had this in hand, for an extremely worn coin it looks like it was a former "high relief" design,
look at her dress and the ground under the dragon, they stick out like a medal !
