True Veiw Toned Lincoln Cents

Today I received some True Veiw Photo's from Phil at PCGS. I thought I'd share what I could upload
to the boards. The coin I wanted to post here the 1936P is to large of a file to upload so I'll have to
wait until I get home to downsize it to fit here. These Photo's are awesome as always Phil has done
a great job again. I also will post a 1954P lincoln that I thought should have been at least a 65 but only
garnered a 64. What do you all think of it? Mike.

My favorite of this group. MS-64RB.

A truly Gorgeous Blue Toner!

Love those Green Toners.

My true Disappointment IMHO should be at least a 65.

HOLY-COW!!! That 41 and 38-D are AMAZING. Those TruView Pics really grasped all those colors.

    I think that 54 deserves a 65 IMHO.

I was on the road this week when I posted these photo's so will add a couple more that I couldn't
upload out on the road. These aren't quite as nice but are good enough for my eye's to enjoy.
Thanks for all the good comments.
    Mike.

rabbitracks - That '54 looks better than a 64, at least in the pic. The '54-P is notorious for a weak reverse strike, showing up in the lines of the wheat stalks. I can't quite tell if that's perhaps where yours has fallen short.

It took me forever to get a '54-P in a PCGS 66RD holder - most came back 65. The one that did get the 66 grade is still a bit weak on the reverse, but the obverse is really nice so that may have made up for the reverse weakness. Overall, your coin does have eye appeal galore and looks 65 easily, IMHO

Thanks Coppernicus, that coin is just magnificent. Most 54P coins have some spotting from the mint. This coin has none. I have 2 in 65 and this coin just blows away both examples for strike and color, and most of all
lustre. Maybe a candidate for a resubmission? Mike.

Thanks for resurfacing this thread. Thoses are some sweet photos. I've noticed (in my limited experience) that the '37 & '38 D's seem to produce those pink and green hues. I have 2 myself. I've seen others like Lee post similar ones as well. Any theories on that?

Matt, thanks for sharing those great toners. I haven't
been on the boards for a while so I was shocked to
see this old thread up. That 1950 Blue Lincoln is
FABULOUSalso love that 1961 that must be
a proof as many in those years turned in their
    cellophane wrappers.
Robec some gorgeous early Proofs thanks also
for sharing them. That 1940 Blue toner is GORGEOUS
and that 1942 has great Purples. Again thanks
for the revisit. Always love those TONERS.
