Private Bidders Question

My girlfriend wants this watch. The bidders are all private, which concerns me. The seller's feedback is only 99.7, which is far from stellar. Also, from the seller's feedback page, you can NOT see the items for which feedback was left. All of this has me a little concerned.

If this was a baseball card, I'd stay far away...but this is a watch.

What do you guys think? I'd hate for my girlfriend to get this watch and be disappointed...

Seems like a legitimate auction to me. Private auction are not uncommon for jewelry and electronics, at least it doesn't seem to be as suspicious as private auctions for sportscards. FB is pretty good. No negatives in the last year but a number of neutrals. Though auctions for this kind of product tend to generate less favorable feedback than auctions for collectibles.

pay via paypal, and use a credit card. Snipe it for the price you're willing to pay.
Anything goes seriously south return it and file a chargeback via your credit card.

No negative feedback in the last year from what I can see. It is the seller's choice to make the auction private and not reveal the bidders identity, not the bidder's choice.

I would say it looks OK. I would check the seller's recent auctions to see if this item is similar to other items sold and the that other auctions have private bidders just to make sure the account isn't hijacked, but to me it looks OK.

99.7% far from stellar? He has not rec. a neg in over a year. I say you are ok. I know some people put private on certain high ticket items so they are targeted for items being stolen in the mail. I would have no problem bidding on it if you are saving a lot of money compared to the retail store.

Plus if you read his decription it sounds like they only deal in clocks and watches.

I say bid away and good luck

A guy has a very decent feedback...only 7 negatives in nearly 4000 transactions...and because he wants his bidders private you think its fraud? He must be committing fraud to some very happy people!! All his products look nice and doesnt just have a couple of high ticket items running that scream fraud.

I think this guy is 100% legit and highly doubt you would have any problems.
