WHOAH and holy crap! Did Richard Green sell his Kennedy set?

It's gone from the current finest! Damn! I, for one, am sorry to see him go. He was one hell of a player in these coins!

    Looks like it is.

<< <i>This world class mint state Kennedy collection was the finest ever assembled. Many unique and low pop brilliant coins. This set was sold in 2006, and was a set that all others will always be judged by. >>

Guess I moved up a notch.

Until who ever got it re-registers it.

Yes he did sell his set in pieces. Too bad, I would have loved to see it complete. Richard has offered a great deal of assistance and expertise in the MS Kennedy chase. Hope everything is alright with him and family. I hate to lose such a leader in the field. Thanks Richard! Oimage Rayimage

    Wow!

That set made me start collecting coins.
Sometimes it is best to move on.

Good luck to Richard in his new collection.....

Richard Green’s set was magnificent! I doubt that anyone will be able to match his “Basic” set, and it will be in the “Hall of Fame” for us to admire and strive for. Richard has and I hope will continue to help collectors of this series. I can remember just this past spring, Richard sent my son (10 year old) several PCGS MS66 Kennedys just out of the blue and when we asked about the price, Richard’s comment was that they were free for Caleb. When Richard dealt with us, it wasn’t always about the money either, I can remember one time we were looking for an upgrade that Richard had and when we asked about it he was totally honest with us by saying that it was in PCGS plastic as MS67 but in his opinion it was only MS66 (not many would do that).

I wish Richard success in what ever the next series is he undertakes.

    Sincerely,
    Timimage

    I have a similar question.

What happened to this set? >> "Balcerak's Kennedy's - 2nd Finest Set of All Time"

    This one disappeared too.

I guess it gets boring to have a set that is virtually unimprovable. Back when most of those coins were obtained, PCGS was a bit looser and it is virtually imopossible right now to obtain some of those ms68 coins and even ms67's in the grades he has (had). From my past experience over 2 years PCGS is just impossible on this series. Over the past 8 years I have seen a massive degree of inconsistence with this series over all and it is real easy to see a coin swing 2 grades on any given day.

I wish I knew he was going to sell. I might have been able to buy some (although maybe not with my budget).
