Even though i'm new on here I just want to say something 1st. I enjoy all the stories on here very much and hope...actually... can't wait for the income and my budget to increase in a couple years so I can have most of my stuff back and some. and it's getting back into the collectibles...from hofer's to van poppels and others to add/keep to my collection for myself and son.
On the side of father hood, The fred mcgriff skills dvd I don't need, but the Joe Mauer/Reggie Jackson swing away I love it, he loves it. The task of making him happy with every ounce of energy; showing him what all our fathers did or tried when they had the time or didn't have the time but made some is amazing and fun. When you get those laughs and smiles it means the world. He's now 6 months and my childhood is burning in me. He wakes up from time to time and we pop in NFL films greatest feats/players ect. and he's glued to the game, The Ken Burns baseball film is the same.
Just want to say Thanks even though you don't know me. But it's been great on here. I'm 23 with a house/car paid/wife/boy/not too successful job yet, Big yard to break windows you know. and a Jordan Fleer (with other hofer's to junk) waiting for him.
Just though i'd post seeing how many people just love their cards rather than proffit (which is good) from them. While I too had given up on cards after 99 while others got back into it; seems to be a trend i'm happy to get back into.

Welcome!

My son is now 2 years old, and he has grown up on ESPN so far. I will never forget the following moments when I was giving him a bottle around 2-3 AM
- Ichiro's season record hit
- The fight at the Palace
During the last 4 games of the Sox/Yanks series in 2004 he woke up on time during the seventh inning (he was less than two months old) and we all know what happened then!
Enjoy! There is so much more to come!
Good luck - I hope you eventually find that "successful" job for you and your family!
23? I got shoes in the closet older than that!

My Dad's got complete sets from the 50s waiting for me and my brother.
I have a good stack of HOF slabs (60s-70s-80s) for my two boys.
Nothing beats the time spent with your children. From what I hear, it flies . . . so enjoy every split second!
"Dad, will you play with me?" is a gift from God. Baseball, football, or hockey. Doesn't matter.
Never soccer, though.
Fooseball is as close as we'll get.
