I'd think those cut auto with Ruth/etc... may have topped six figures. If not them, the basketball patch/auto Lebron James card.
  • i saw a 2005 Upper Deck Hall Of Fame Legendary Lineups Redemption go for 50 grand but i dont know if i got a bid or not
  • so does anybody know any cards that went for a highest price ever for a baseball card

A PSA 10 SI For Kids Tiger Woods sold for $125,000 back in the day. Not baseball, but I believe it is the highest paid for a trading card made since 1990.

    Joe
No such details will spoil my plans...

I believe there was some kind of quad or quint cut auto card that sold for 80K, but I'm not 100% sure that's correct.

Didn't the UD quad auto of Ruth, Mathewson, Wagner and ... sell for 80K--the one that was determined to have forgeries on it
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

Forget blocking him; find out where he lives and go punch him in the nuts. --WalterSobchak 9/12/12

Looking for Al Hrabosky and any OPC Dave Campbells (the ESPN guy)
  • hey im new here and i was interested in this topic does anybody know where that quad or quint cut auto with the forgeries does anybody know which set it came froM!! THANKS
  • I don't post here often, but thought I'd share since I have the pics. As you can see it's from 2005 Legendary Cuts. It sold somewhere around $85,000. Two of the autos (the Ruth and Johnson I believe) were deemed "likely not genuine" by PSA when they viewed pictures of the card. This was exposed on the HBO program Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel.

    Tiger Woods Link

The most expensive baseball card is the 2005 Legendary Cuts shown by dgf on page 1 of the thread. Here is an article:

    Quad Cut Link

Finally, here is a link that will show the most expensive things in the world (from baseball cards to coffee to Yo-Yos):

    Longest List of Expensive Things

  • SO AS OF RIGHT NOW THE MOST EXPENSIVE MODERN BASEBALL CARD IS THE QUAD CUT U SHOWED ME
  • Sean, yes it is the most expensive post-1990 baseball card sold to date.
  • 1 more question how can i keep up to date for the highest price for a modern baseball card is their a website or something that is updated everyday and tells u
  • There is no website that will track the most expensive modern card sales. However, I am sure that when a card sell for a record price, you will find a news release on the Beckett website. Attached is the link. On the home page, there is a link to news stories. You may want to check that link on a weekly basis to see if there are any news reports of record sales.

How do you figure? I'm amazed by the amount of filth it pulls off my carpet. A bagless vacuum that never loses suction. What more can you ask for?

That's great news! Maybe with this little shot in the arm you'll be able to dig up the 6$ for grading fees the next time you hazard across a high dollar sports card that's 'perfect in every way'. I'd sure hate to see you take the short end of another card deal.
