PRIORITY MAIL

Hello,
I shipped via priority mail and it has been since Thursday and he still hasnt gotten the package yet. How long have you guys had Priority mail take to get to its destination. I know the "average" is 2-3 days, however, it is not guaranteed.
Let me know please.

You might ask your carrier as well, it's possible they could have tried to deliver it and the orange slip fell out somewhere. My carrier won't bring packages on Saturdays or any day he's got a lot of magazines, so it's possible they are waiting for a lighter mail day as well.

I've found that many carriers these days do not bring packages out with them that require a signature but leave a slip instead, at least in areas where they deliver mail by truck to boxes on the side of the road.

They usually do not get lost forever, but can sometimes
be "mis-routed."
A USPS study from 2-years ago found that on some
routes, First-Class was a little faster than Priority,
but I have not found that in any of my mailings.

I was actually told this at the PO also. Lady said the priority mail was handled by different people than the rest of the mail and this was the reason.

If anything, it MIGHT be one day quicker than 1st class.

Overpriced, yes, especially for lighter packages, but at least you get a free box to insulate the item!

the biggest farce that i can see is now they almost only issue "flat-rate" boxes... a flat-rate box is like 8 bucks!
that is downright crazy.
any thoughts?
You can order any of the boxes online. In fact the sizes you can order online are not available to most post offices. They send the branches the boxes that are commonly used and are better for them. Items that weigh under 13 ounces regular first class is the way to go anything more is automatically moved to priority or bumped down to parcel.
FedEx used to handle USPS's priority shipping. Personally I have seen priority take as long as a month. From my location I cannot send to Dallas next day via Express, but Priority mail almost always gets there then next day. Go figure..
