Eli Manning # 2

perkdogperkdog Posts: 30,651 ✭✭✭✭✭
He might have been over hyped for this year? He has talent and I know quite a few people myself included thought he was in for a monster season. A little to early maybe? It looks like he might be another year away from growing up in the NFL.

Any thoughts..........

Until he learns how to throw a ball and not float it, he's never going to be a superstar. He also needs to learn when to throw it away and not make those terrible second half interceptions.
  • Anyone notice how many turnovers are at the cause of Plex? Dude drops a ball and guy int's it.... He catches a long pass and then fumbles...

Well, so far Eli has better numbers then he has had at this point in any season. Anyone who has watched the Giants first three games knows that Eli Manning is not in the top 5 Giants problems. Yes, that flutter ball is a problem and yes Eli thre 2 bad picks in Seattle .... but besides that he has played very well.

Again, the Giants are 1-2 for many more reasons then Eli Manning. Burress and Tim Carter can learn to catch easy TD's that Eli has placed right in their hands for starters .....

  • Well, he was hyped up. But deservebly so. He's going to continue to improve, and he will become an upper echelon QB. He'll throw for another 3700+ yards this season; and the problem is definetly NOT Eli Manning. Yes, he needs to improve; but he has only 1 full season starting under his belt, he will improve. But I'm far from concerned about Eli, atleast he doesn't have the patented Manning happy feet like his brother and Pops do.

So what you're saying is that Eli has finally found his nitch, in garbage time when the other team is up 40 and go into "Prevent defense", allowing him to complete garbage stats.

    fantastic image

Im joking for the most part, I think Eli is evolving into a servicable QB, but he's more likely to turn into Phil Simms than a Troy Aikman
  • Hyp-As a Giants fan, I'll take a QB that'll get us a couple of rings. That's GREAT news. Honestly, Brandon Jacobs WILL be that workhorse back that the Giants have been looking for. Eventually.

Eli will be just fine. Right now, the Giants need to focus on tackling people and getting within the same zip code as the QB. Their secondary is dismal, too.

It'd be nice if they gave him some time, I think he could be a special RB. Eddie George but FAST !!!!

One thing the Giants championship teams of 86 and 90 had that this team is sorely lacking is smarts. Those teams had intelligent football minds on both sides of the ball, and it seems we are stuck with dopes now.

The coaching staff has to start accpeting some blame for whats going here here. They are not prepared coming into these games.

Finally, can Shockey please shut his damn yap for once ?

Agreed. However, he did rightfully criticize the coaching staff for being unprepared after this debacle.

I don't see the coaches out on the field, last time I checked.

You don't go to the press and rip your coaching staff - do that stuff behind closed doors. What's it going to accomplish, other than make you out to be a whining baby?

If shockey had more stats at this point, even if the team had the same record, you wouldn't hear a peep out of him.

You obviously don't know much about Shockey. And why should you, I thought you hated everything about NY sports. Don't you have a D&D marathon to go to with your boyfriend? LOSER!

Ax. Shockey has not stopped running his big mouth since he was drafted. Where in the hell did you come up with the above thought?
