What should I do?
A. Sell part, bust part
B. Sell individually as boxes
C. Sell as a case
D. Bust it all and post scans!
E. Hold on to it.
I bought for about $950...going rate is a little over $100 per box....14 boxes per case. I bought with the intention of reselling since I don't collect SPx....

1.) You see if you can get $100/box and sell all of them for a $400 profit and spend the profit on something you collect, or ...
2.) Sell 10 of the boxes to cover your costs and break the other four and see if you get lucky with a card you can flip for more.

By the way...where did you pick it up so cheaply? How long ago?
I only ask becase I would like to bust some cases next year and I want to be prepared for the best time to lock into pre-sales and with what companies that can offer the best deals.

But, if I had the case, I would do exactly as stated....sell 10 to cover the cost and open the four boxes. Could end up with some nice cards to make a profit on. Or, you could end up with many common and star cards that you'd have to list as a lot or a set or something.

Although if you really dont like the product sell it all and take the profit and reward yourself buying something you want for your collection
Seems to me you answered your own question. Since you don't collect the product, what's the use of selling 10 boxes and breaking the other 4? Sell them by the box, make your aprroximately $450 and put it towards something you like.
BTW...anyone interested in a box/case?

looking for that. Its hard to look at a case and not open any. Bush is getting around 500.

<< <i>Open one first. That way, you'll get a decent bust and open another, then get completely carried away and break em one by one til there's none left. Then you can add up the value of the cards at the end and get angry because of all the money you lost. That's usually my route with a case.

That's a fine strategy, and one which I myself am not scared to employ from time to time. However, if the $$ is the primary consideration I'd sell the case and spend that dough on a high end basketball product from 2003. Seriously, is there ANY WAY that stuff doesn't quadruple in value in the next 10 years?
Lee
<< <i>Only if they decide to break up the NBA and LeBron, Melo, and Wade play exclusively international tournaments. But yeah, you're right. And who knows what Darko and Bosh are capable of?
Lee >>
Indeed. Those are the darkhorses of this rookie class, and Wade and Lebron are shaping up to be the Magic/Bird of our time-- except they both play in the same conference, and the NBA hype machine is MUCH finer tuned then it was in the '80's.
This stuff just has to explode by 2010. Just HAS to. I can't see any way that it doesn't. This Pistons are in decline, and while the Bulls are pesky it's tough to see a scenerio where the Heat and the Cavs aren't duking it out for the rights to play in the finals at least every third year for the next 15.
