This coin is twice the thickness of a half dollar, what is the thickness of your coin?

  • It appears to be the same thickness as a half.. not double, but as you can see.. it.. uh hum... has alot of wear.

My guess is that it is a 1797 British two pence that collected material in the incuse part of the design. As the rest of the coin corroded away that material remained.

  • that inner circle is intriguing-- but something about it says British Halfpenny of George I to me (1717-24). My best guess.
