Do you block bidders after they retract a bid on your auction?

I just had one and I looked up he guys history and he has 8 retractions in the last 6 months. I blocked him. I think 8 is WAY too many "mistakes" to have made when bidding. I think this guy just tries to see what he would need to bid to out bid the next guy and if its too high, he'll retract it.

I don't know if I was clear in my original message. He retracted his bid on my item first, then I blocked him.
My Auctions
BUT, I would not block him until AFTER the auction is completed.
He might jump in, and you might score higher because of it.
If he stays out, I would block him. If, in the future, he asks to
bid, I would unblock him.
All that may not set well with the "fair-play" concepts, but there
is no point in punishing yourself for someone else's bad acts.

Sorry, I didnt see that you blocked him already. Anyway, he probably has a ebay id just to do things like retract bids. Then he will bid with his real id later on after he knows what to bid. I would unblock him just in case

<< <i>I have certainly retracted bids before........not because I made a mistake, per se.........................sometimes an alcohol induced bid......sometimes because I won the same card in another auction...................Does this make me unworthy and a bad ebayer??

was sticking on the zero. The guy was really mean to
me on one of them; $1500.01 for a $15.00 item. I
guess he thought he had hit a homerun, for a moment.
The risk to a seller of having a habitual error-maker is
that if they bid and wait until the last-permitted
retraction minute, other buyers may have stopped
by in the interim, seen the high bid and moved on.
The seller is then stuck with a pre-error high-bid, and
some of his potential bidders have already moved on.
It is no big deal to make a mistaken entry, but I do
know that many folks do it just to gather info on the
reserve and/or other numbers.
