1956 is my birthyear. I'm about to turn 50 So I figure I'd like to buy some '56 dated coins for my birthday present to myself.
I'm looking for a 1956 Jefferson Nickel in 66 FS and a 1956-D in 65 FS.
I guess I'm also looking for a nice mint set toned '56 Frankie too (66 FBL).

Happy 50th Carl. I turned fifty in February so I am now closer to 51 than 49. Oh well, life goes on and as I get older and wiser, life gets better. One can only hope thats good physical and mental health goew along with the getting wiser part.
I have a couple of 1956 Mint Sets with toned halves. I do not think that they are FBL though. Two of the toners have nice eye appeal IMHO (one is has darker toning that looks great uder good lighting conditions and one has a lighter, more multi colored toning pattern). Some of the nickles are also attractively toned, but none are FS.
If you are interested in looking at the sets, please PM me. I live in the SF Bay Area and understand that you also live in the same area. Santa Clara is coming up and I will take a day off to attend and have fun snooping around.
I will attend Santa Clara. I'll be wearing my holey coin hat and my Mercury Dime t-shirt, please stop me and say hello.
Actually I'm working on a registry set for the '56 coins. I haven't entered any coins yet. Since I'm shooting for a top 5 spot I do want FBL and FS coins. The Jeffs are definitely the hardest denomination to find...
That aside, PM me with your address, and I'll send you a roll of BU '56 Lincolns to help you celebrate!
(I've searched the roll and while there are some 66RD's in there, there are no 67's or better.) A truly "searched" roll!
When I turned 50, I just looked at it like I had made it halfway through my life here!

However those Jeffs are tough in FS. The '56-D is downright scarce in a PCGS FS holder. I let a '56 in 64 FS go and it went very cheaply. It looks like I'm not going to get to pick and choose if I want to find both the P and D Nickels in FS before my birthday!
