Japan 5 Yen... steel !?

Today at the flea's market I saw this coin, a 5 Yen from Japan, from the Hiroito age, year 49.
I already have this coin on my collection, but this one appears to be made of steel, it's white in color. How ca be this ? It's fake ?
Here is a scan of the coin:

Either that, or it has been plated or otherwise discolored in some manner.
If it doesn't weigh 3.7500g it is definitely a fake - the first one I have ever heard of for this design, out of the tens of billions minted between 1949 and last Friday afternoon.
A siimple magnet test (a refrigerator magnet is suffient) will reveal whether or not it is steel.
(The western date equivalent is 1974.)
The guy who sold me didn't notice the "error", I got it for 2.000 Gs. (about 0.35 USD)
