OT: Ebay Best Offer feature now has counter offer and other anhancements!

This actually happened about a week ago, but I'm just noticing it now.
A LONG overdue enhancement to the Best Offer feature has now been implemented, the ability for a seller to make a counteroffer, as opposed to simply approving or denying the initial offer.
In addition, a buyer can make up to 3 offers on an item, no longer limited to just 1.
Lastly, sellers can set a minimum best offer threshold that they will consider. Offers below that amount will be autodeclined. Should make it easier to avoid being hassled by ridiculous lowball offers.

I mean, if a seller puts in a 100 dollar 'best offer', but won't take offers below 80.00, won't that sort of signal that the seller thinks it's worth 80, but is hoping to see 100?
sorta seems like playing poker with all your cards face up, in a way... or am I wrong?
The counteroffer was long overdue indeed. In fact it was done in practice off ebay and they must have realized that they were losing money.

<< <i>if you put a minimum bottom line, isn't that likely to be what your offers are going to range?

Not sure I understand the question.
Example:
I put a coin on sale with a $50 Buy-It-Now price and best offer option. I set the minimum offer threshold at $30. Any offers from buyers below $30 get autodenied without my ever seeing them, and offers of $30 and over come through to me for approval/denial/counteroffer.
The buyer doesn't see the actual dollar amount that the deny level is set to.

Aha! I like this more and more.
Let's note here, that if an offer has been denied, say early in the auction, only the bidder who made the offer and the seller used to be able to see the dollar amounts, the rest of the bidders could only see that an offer had been made and denied. I guess that this will continue with the counteroffers, these details are revealed to the rest of the bidders only at the end and if an offer has been accepted.
