ugly wax box = a cheap reward?

"Don't judge a book by its cover"? image

rd

bigtime seller selling an ugly box!

P.S. Those packs look beat-up too! But who know's, some lucky devil may wind-up with a Molitor rookie gem! I think I bought some raw material from Mr. Hays back in the 80's or early 90's? (edit: His PSA graded items have been pretty cool!)

Don't expect much in the way of gradeable cards with that box. Odds are the cards are mildewed or warped from improper storage over the years.

The box is probably missing one pack because the cards in that one pack were probably so awful the rest weren't worth opening.

Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.

Beat up from the feet up baby! There is probably a PSA 10 #400 Nolan Ryan in that "box" image

nah, I think I bought from him (thru the mail, ...and not at a show!), if I remember correctly, a bunch of, I think it was 1962 Topps, of those "Babe Ruth Highlights" cards. Some years later I "PSA graded many of them, with good results.

Sorry, but I missed gregg hara's & george grauer's scottish rite temple shows in the 80s,

...as I spent a good chunk of the 80's working in Europe (and while I was there, I was a part-time "muenzen handeler-sameler", featuring "sheer selten Deutche muenzen" specializing in, "gidenkt muenzen in polette platen und Deutche gold muenzen") ....i.e., if there any Germans out there, I apologize and sooooooo sorry about the spelling and the German grammar, as I already stink in English spelling and grammar, I can only imagine how I butchered the German writing above! image

translation: "....a part-time coin dealer/collector, featuring very rare coins of Germany, specializing in German commerative proof coins and some German gold...." I think? image

    rd

edit: P.S. My German is as ugly as that box! (hint: btw, who else but an olde coin freak who liked proof coins, would choose a "1964 purple-toned proof nickel" as his "chat board scan"?) [...above left!]
  • I was upset seeing that auction too, I have been wanting a '78 wax box - my first year of real collecting when I was 7. Ahhhh, the memories -love those careds, especially the Yaz.
Just glad to be here with everyone.
