My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)
It dosn't look as prooflike in hand. I took the picture under light so there is a lot of reflection. I still dont know how the establish if is SMS or not. I sent a 1965 Kennedy with it. I labled it as a business strike. It came back labeled SMS. I dont think they messed this one up.

Wow!!
No one else can tell for sure with most examples if they are SMS or not either. Really even when someone is sure we are making a lot of assumptions. From the look of it, it doesn't look SMS to me. I've seen more similar coins to this in rolls than in sets. The most SMS thing about it is the preponderance of ticks being on the shield but this isn't that unusual for roll coins. The most business strike attribute, I think, is the surface texture. This is seen a little less on the SMS coins. It is from relatively new dies but most of the business strike dies struck business strikes when they were new.
Congratulations on the nice grading "score". I know you are selling the coin "sight-unseen", which I have -0- interest in participating in. But, make no mistake about it - IMHO, this is a coin worth MORE than the current Price Guide if it is truly a business strike. A very scarce business strike Kennedy indeed in the MS67 grade.

Even if it were SMS it's still very pretty.

<< <i>Looks business strike to me. >>
Does this one look like a business strike?

-It does. It seems to have 'wet' luster instead of 'glossy' like on SMS. I'm certainly no expert on the topic.

PCGS stuck it in an SMS holder, and it was pulled from an OBW roll that sat in a collection since the late 1960's.
