    The early "O" mints come well struck. The poor strikes start in 83.

    This coin does look nice. Hard to see the contrast in the photo, but I'll trust it's there.

    Overall a nice piece.

    I just did a search and found that all the other 81-O's have great strikes too.

    I purchased this specific 1881-O because it appeared from the auction photos to have a super sharp strike, a minimum amount of contact marks, and strong mint luster with some cameo contrast between frosty white devices and satiny fields.
