  • sounds pretty complicated. Maybe ebay is a better way to auction this one.
    image
  • Well when I posted it in the US coins forum a bunch of people expressed interest in it. I figured if I offered it at a single price, some would be left out. This way the person who truly wants it the most will get it.

Just PM me your offer and we'll go from there.

How about you pass along the good deal that winstonware gave YOU on the coin on NGC's boards at 75.00?

It's unfortunate that you would take advantage of that to make a few bucks and I doubt that winstonware would be pleased.

I'll pay you 75.00 plus shipping since I believe I was second in line at that time.
  • I'm not trying tot take advantage of anything. The higher price isbecause I don't want the coin to go THIS SECOND... It can loom for a while.

Did you read your own post?

I will accept offers on this coin by PM. This is so I can get a baseline offer for the coin. Only reasonable offers will be considered.
I guess this has been done

After a day or so, I will post the highest offers, and people can either accept or reject their offer once the others are posted. People may also raise/lower their offer if they feel that it might help them to get the coin.
    So.....what were the highest offers?

The person with the highest offer after a predetermined amount of time will get the coin!
And what is this predetermined amount of time?
And more importantly, why has this changes to a fixed price?

I figured if I offered it at a single price, some would be left out.
And offering it at $125 is somehow different?

Please keep in mind that Shipping/Insurance is part of the price. I can ship Priority before insurance for $4.05, plus insurance fees may be more than that.
Of course insurance fee's will be more than that......but you're still including that in the final price, right?

As I see it, the highest offer is $75.......I'll take a look 'Across the Street' to see if there's a higher offer.

Well Chad, things don't look so good Across the Street!

Oh, and your thread on the 2004 Mint sets crack me up!.......
    $70-to-Face Value-to-$60 is the lowest-to-$55!image

Hmmm! Looks like you're taking offers here too...

Nah, you're not taking advantage are you?
  • Goose is correct. I did give you a “friendly” price because you are a fellow board member and I thought that you really wanted to the coin to hold on to and enjoy. Goose was next in line, so IMO the right thing to do would be to sell Goose the coin at the price that I gave you.

This thread is already at the very top of the page so I am not bumping it up with my post, but I will add that I even sent a PM to Winston telling him he was selling you the coin for under its market value when you expressed an interest in it. Winston replied that you really wanted the coin for your collection so he was willing to accept less than he could have on the coin in order to help you out. Do what you want with the coin, but your first post makes no sense as a sales listing, and flipping the coin in such a manner so quickly might not endear you to other members should you ever decide to buy a coin from one of them. In other words, the few bucks profit you make on this transaction might cost you much more in future costs.

It seems that any reference to this post at www.tradingslabs.com has been deleted!

That's interesting for a site the thrives on "feedback."

Could this situation be considered feedback?

  • It was deleted because the coin was sold....

  • Here are the facts as they relate to trading slabs.

At first I moved the post from the trading forum to the "Auctions, for sale forum"

After I saw that it was sold I put it into the "Junk" folder where traded items and Sales items stay until they are automatically deleted several weeks later. In the case of this particular thread I still have it in the "Junk" folder. Since there seems to be interest in this thread I will restore it for a week or so, But I do not like to keep items in the Auction, or trading forums after they are traded or sold. There are enough live coins to go through without having to sort through a bunch of stuff that is no longer available.

    Ron Day

Oh yea, Augie - I am still waiting for your address ( I think this is about the 20th request ) so I can send you the 1/10 oz gold coin in return for the 20 cent piece that you agreed to return to me. I have never had a problem sending my half first, so! what is the hold up.

Are you waiting to find your honour? Will it be a long wait?

I have to wonder why you are so reluctant to provide me with the means to get my coin back from you.

Strange how this ONE post got deleted. Ron, our trade that took place over a month ago was still there. I would pull it up, but I can no longer log in to the site, and I have no problem with that.

Seems to me, Munkyman95 didn't like the image that this scam created and asked you to make it disappear, and you did - THAT bothers me. You're are running a site that thrives on feedback, THIS type of BS is exactly what members need to know about whom they're dealing with. It's called character, ethics, loyalty, honesty, etc.

I will not reply to this again as I refuse to subject PCGS's message board to it. There are several trading slabs members here that I think would find this interesting, and it's up to them to take it for what it's worth.

Good luck w/ your site. I'll leave you with this; when one of your members get caught with their pants down, don't get caught trying to cover it up for them, or you'll lose all your members.

My apologies to the PCGS members reading this.

Yes Ron, funny how you say you sent my coin back once before, but it never got here.......you even failed to ins/del.conf/sign. conf contrary to your own rules.....nothing to prove you sent the coin.
Now you're saying you 'lost' my address......image

This from a moderator/owner that thinks it's OK for a member to void a deal for any or NO reason whatsoever, even if one of the 'trades' has already sent their trade! image
Someones 'word' on completing a trade does not mean much on your site.
Guess that shows were you stand on honour.

Aija dishonesty is clear to any who read the facts.

I sent him one package with a gold coin and a Money Order which he claims not to have received.

I have never asked or expected Aija to trust me. I misplaced his address and have asked him to email it to me so I can re-send him a $5 gold coin and a check for postage.

After over 20 requests on 4 different websites and to his personal email address he has yet to respond with his address.

Ajia’s ruse should be clear for everyone to see.

    *** side note

It is not against tradingslabs policy to send packages without confirmation or insurance HOWEVER it is at the senders risk. This FACT is well known to Aija. I never made any claim of wrong doing. I agreed to send ANOTHER coin. You can draw your own conclusions as to why he REFUSES to provide his address.

More details for those who are interested

Aija was a member of tradingslabs.

All members of tradingslabs agree to the rules before trading.

The number one rule at tradingslabs is that a trade can be canceled for any or NO reason.
The founding principal of tradingslabs is fiducary trust.

    Aija understood this.

I had purchased a 20 cent piece for about $120.

I offered it for trade on tradingslabs.

Aija offered me a modern RAW $5 gold piece ($65) in exchange for my recently purchased 20 cent piece ($120).

I accepted his offer. Why? I am new to coin collecting. I mistakenly thought that a modern $5 gold piece was the same weight as an original $5 gold piece. I discovered that the $5 gold coin was only 1/10 oz before Ajia received my 20 cent piece.

I told him that we needed to either cancel the trade or re-negotiate the deal.

We were unable to renegotiate the deal.

First. There is no reason that I know of preventing you from logging onto the site.

Second: To say that I am somehow in cahoots with Munkyman95 in a coverup to protect Munkyman95 is just plain silly.

Had he requested to have the thread deleted ( since his coin was sold ) I would have said I deleted it because he asked me to.

    That was not the case.

Gee, do you think that might be why I said it was not the case? Mmmmmmm.

With the exception of a few forums that have an auto delete set up after a certain amount of time, MOST of the over 700 posts on the site get removed MANUALLY. Which means as I see things that are OLD or SOLD or TRADED I remove them. This means it is done in a rather hap-hazard way. If you know of threads that need deleting either edit your post on the site like many members do indicating that the thread is dead or PM me and I will take care of it.

In the mean time I will be moving the thread in question into the PUBLIC forum so any and all who are interested will have the priv’s to read it.

    Here is the link:

I will leave it up for a few weeks before moving it back into the JUNK folder.

Take this GARBAGE to emails or Private Messages and show some respect for people actually SELLING stuff on this board.

(note: the only reason I replied was because you already had this CRAP at the top)

I won't TTT this garbage yet again.

No, squabbles like this do NOT belong here unless you are buying/selling/trading something.
  • This "Crap" Goes to the very HEART of this forum. Who you can trust. And who you cannot trust. We are all selling and trading expensive coins. We need to know more than a PO Box to do this.
