What I found at the bank today

As part of my job, I have to get coin and bills to make change with. As I was waiting on the teller to process my change order I saw something interesting in the tellers cash drawer. I saw some clad "silver" dollars with bands of bright copper showing.
I asked the teller if I could buy them from her. Here's what I got:
4 each 1973-Uncirculated Eisenhower Dollars
4 each 1973-D Uncirculated Eisenhower Dollars
1 each 1974-S Silver Clad Eisenhower Dollar
I have never looked at "Ikes" as something that have an interest in collecting. I thought that the silver clad that was in the mix would be the "keeper." Took a look a copy of the Redbook and found that the "73's" were never released for circulation. It just makes me wonder how they got to the bank.
Not a bad deal for $9.

When I refered to the 73's I was refering to the lot of eight coins dated 1973, not a 73S.
BTW, I'm a long term lurker that finally found a reson to post.

My first post...updated with pics
I collect mostly moderns and I'm currently working on a US type set.
I was hung up on the s. Sorry.
Nice find.
About your name... my first tour in the army exposed me to grits for the first time, but accidentally.
See, we never ate grits when I was a kid. We had oatmeal and cream of wheat for breakfast. Or toast, eggs and a side of bacon or sausage... maybe pancakes or waffles occasionally and fruit. anyway......
I was in the chow hall and decided to try some cream of wheat for breakfast. I thought they just made it a little runnier, was all. I put in a little butter, a little sugar, a couple tablespoons of milke, and I gotta tell ya....
that doesn't go with GRITS very well
I hope your time spent here is better than my first time in an army mess hall.
Joe
So does this mean we have a new IKE collector to welcome to the fold?
The name is LEE!
OMG! How could you do that? Did you ask for the bank manager so that you guys could try to find the original owner of those Ikes???
Seriously, around here a lot of people have kept every Ike dollar they ever found. So there are a lot of EF or so Ikes around here, and no buyers, even at $1.25 apiece. So I turn all of mine into the bank.
Edited for typo.
